Just about every big hit has a back story! For example, before the Detroit group, Grand Funk, took the song Some Kind Of Wonderful to #3 in 1975, the song was originally recorded by the Rochester NY group, The Soul Brothers Six. However, their original version only hit #91 in 1967. Not sure why since it's a pretty damn good original version!

Travis Lavoid Wammack was born on November 19, 1944 in Walnut, Mississippi and died on February 27, 2026 at the age of 81 in Alabama after a brave battle with bone cancer.
This special episode is told via an interview with Travis prior to his passing and his 45 RPMs (and a few LP cuts) from 1957 - 1978.
Travis Wammack was a revered guitarist, a blue-eyed soul singer, a songwriter and an accomplished studio musician. You'll learn all about his musical journey and hear examples of his genius of the music he left behind.
